MEPCO GOES LIVE WITH WEB-BASED PUMP SELECTION SOFTWARE

MEPCO Implements Web-based Software to Streamline the Pump Selection
Process for its global Network of Distributors and Customers

March 23, 2004  Marshalltown, IA - MEPCO (Marshall Engineered Products Company), a global pump manufacturer, announced today that it has gone live with PUMP-FLO Solutions’ ePUMP-FLO web-based software, named MEPflo Online. MEPCO has implemented the software into its existing website www.mepcollc.com to improve the sizing and selection of its line of centrifugal pumps.

MEPCO is using the ePUMP-FLO advanced software platform to improve time and efficiencies throughout the pump sizing, selection, and quotation processes. Prior to MEPflo Online, the use of traditional paper catalogs and CD’s were increasingly cost-prohibitive for MEPCO. With the ePUMP-FLO powered MEPflo software, MEPCO expects to save nearly 15% on catalog and CD distribution costs.

MEPCO has also deployed ePUMP-FLO’s web-based lead generation and management tools to collect valuable demographic information about its current and potential clients as well as each user’s product selection activity.

"Our MEPflo web-based solution enables us to improve efficiencies throughout the pump sizing and selection process helping us serve our customers and distributors better than ever before," said Larry Clark, VP Sales & Marketing, MEPCO. "In addition, the PUMP-FLO software provides us with a powerful lead generation, management, and quotation system allowing us to respond to purchasing inquiries more timely and accurately."

Users of the MEPflo web-based software can select, evaluate, and analyze centrifugal pumps from the MEPCO product line. MEPflo uses a powerful PUMP-FLO search engine to select all the pumps that meet the user’s specific criteria, from which they can select the best pump for the application. After searching the chosen catalog, MEPflo then creates a list of pumps meeting the desired criteria. There are several categories for selecting the best pump and motor including: speed, power, motor size, NPSHr, design efficiency, and best efficiency point (BEP). Pump curves can then be displayed for comparison and evaluation. Supporting documentation such as dimensional drawings and cutaway views can also be generated.

"MEPCO sells into a fiercely competitive centrifugal pump marketplace where efficiencies and customer loyalty is king," said Justin Johnson, Product Manager, PUMP-FLO Solutions. "With the adoption of our ePUMP-FLO software, MEPCO will significantly streamline their pump selection and quotation process, and increase quality leads. This will give MEPCO a competitive advantage in the market."
